This is a damning report, even with excerpts like this one from senior BBC hatemonger John Sudworth:
For example, John Sudworth, the former BBC correspondent in mainland China who left for Taiwan in March 2021,4 admitted that the goal of his reporting was to highlight negative developments in China. He has spoken about ‘focusing on the negatives’ in reporting China, arguing that ‘the job of good journalism everywhere is to tell stories that those in power don’t want us to tell’. Sudworth himself admitted that this approach brings dangers of misunderstanding or over-simplifying China, and that the negative news can become “shorthand not just for the Chinese Government and the Chinese system but for the sort of place China is and for its people in general”.
This guy made the news after making up a story about how he was harassed out of China, but it was actually after China barred the BBC World News from being aired in response to what the Chinese embassy in London called “relentless fabrication” of ‘lies of the century’ in reporting China”.
He made a documentary about the Uighur Genocide which was unintentionally a comedy when he can’t find anything wrong and has to try to make everything suspicious.
