this is one of those ideas you’re supposed to have while you’re stoned and then discard as surface-level drivel that is essentially too obvious to be instructive. but apparently, that can now be pushed out as a NYT op ed. they aren’t sending their best folks. although, i’m starting to think that the people that would have become the state apparatus were they boomers are currently just doing their best not to have an uncle ted moment in the woods.

“We - here at the New York Times - have decided that Surface-Level Drivel™ is our new motto/paradigm. And, Tom? Remember to push the ‘Not voting is a vote for Trump’ angle in your interview with…” The build up and then “Not a Meathead Robert Reiner…” No response. What’s wrong with these fuckers. They get paid enough. “That was a joke, people.” Smiles all 'round. They better fucking smile or I’ll fire their ass. He looks around the room. The smiles are frozen in place and he is happy.

they aren’t sending their best folks

The more of this nonsense I see, the more I think they might actually be sending their best.
