Once upon a time there was a city made entirely of gold in South America, which was guarded by a huge dragonoid woman who was worshiped as a goddess. The dragon guardian of their city defended the city and its people ever since the beginning of the time, and allowed them to develop an extremely advanced civilization in the Amazon. The god of their city would eventually get a vision of foreigners on another undiscovered continent arriving and destroying her people, so she began to hibernate and prepare for the day that the blood of a golden city person was spilled.
Eventually the European colonists arrived at the city, and they were horrified by the god of the city who they thought resembled a lizard or salamander. The goddess recognized the people from her visions, and she knew these were the same who would eventually pillage the city and slaughter her people. She warned all the indigenous people of South America to come to the city to be saved from the incoming catastrophe, but only a few were able to make it in time. As soon as the cannons began shooting the city, a few made dents in the golden buildings. The goddess shielded the city and allowed it to sink deeper and deeper into the Earth, before bringing it all the way down to the spirit world where it was safe from colonialism. For her selfless actions, the goddess of the city broke her curse and was restored to the appearance of a beautiful woman.
Now the city of gold sits on the bottom of the ocean of hell, with a forcefield to prevent water from entering. The people of the golden city have developed gills and fins to survive in the new environment, and were able to live by eating the fish, kelp, fruits and cattle of hell. The goddess of the city provides a bright light that can be seen by sailors of hell, and the force field of the city can be seen through the dark water of the seas of hell.
What the fuck did I just read?
