This is a short response to this red herring argument.

Yes, males victims EXIST. I see LGBTQ+ men (especially of the trans variety) being shamed for being “unmanly”, male rape victims exist, male domestic abuse victims exist, there are categories where men are shamed in for being male in that field such as nursing, housewifery, cooking, etc. The reality is that women suffer more. The vast majority of victims of rape, domestic abuse, and sexism are women due to the system being designed to subjugate women.

Does it make male suffering any less tragic? No, it doesn’t.

Obviously men can be victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault, I don’t really see anyone arguing otherwise who isn’t a bad troll and I agree with what you have said, it’s a really disingenuous argument and I would argue a strawman as well. The dismissal of male victims is primarily due to the patriarchy and misogyny itself. The ones who seem to dismiss male victims the most are other men who act like the victim should have enjoyed it (see literally any comment section under an article about a female teacher being arrested for raping a male student), it is because historically and contemporarily men are expected to enjoy and want sex and be the dominant group within society.
