    under liberal democracy the choices presented are performatively feeling bad about exploitation (the democrats) or reveling in it (the republicans), while anyone successful enough at organizing against capital is killed by the American security apparatus

    I would also settle for the traditional understanding of a dictator at this point as long the person doesn’t suck total shit. Like a tribune for the prols with absolute power to fix a bunch of shit.

    I nominate Norm Finkelstein for the position because he would definitely improve conditions for everyone (including non-US by destroying most of the MIC bullshit) but would simultaneously piss everyone off with some specific weird thing.

    This is basically just a repackaging of the concept of inverted totalitarianism but I like to agitate libs over the idea that capitalism is just distributed dictatorship or a series of discrete autocracies of varying scope.

    It usually helps to shake them loose from their black-and-white, communism bad therefore capitalism/democracy good thinking, especially if you elaborate on it.
