US is rapidly losing its grip on Latin America, so I’m fairly optimistic to be honest. A critical mass of countries like Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Venezuela are looking like they’re going to band together to resist US imperialism. Another factor is that China is becoming an increasingly large presence in Latin America. This provides an alternative to orgs like IMF that have been traditionally used to choke these countries.
