This thing has always confused me about Americans. They’ll give some explanation for why things are shitty but then act like that explanation solves the problem. That smugly stating “umm acktually don’t you know there are reasons why America barely functions sweaty?” is in any way acceptable. They act like simply admitting that a problem exists is all the work that needs to be done, and that actually wanting to change things to fix it is some kind of horrific sinful evil.
