    if you hear something repeated enough times you might start beliving it to be true without realizing it, and most western media has been screaming about him being a monster for as long as I can remember.

      Back in my day, we heard that about Mao! It was always just casually dropped how he was “the most evil person of all time” or “one of the most evil people” just as a little extra bit anytime he was mentioned by anything. After him, it was Saddam I think, might’ve been someone in the middle there I’m forgetting.
