A while back I saved about 20 tadpoles from a drying up fountain in our garden. I have been supporting them in an aquarium by feeding them spinach and cycling the water and now several of them have turned to little frogs and I’ve moved them to this little habitat I’m making.

I’ve got lots of pictures and stuff. I’ll update this thread with more stuff.

I saved a bunch of baby frogs from my rabbits outdoor water bowl. I saved this poor rabbit from my relatives that never took care of it. They went out of town for a week and I was stuck with it. They kept it locked inside this shitty tiny cage all day every day and when they brought it over it’s cage was already a weeks worth of soiled. I had to buy more shaving to change it myself because I wasn’t going to let this poor thing live in it’s own shit for a week. I had a buddy out a day after they dropped it off. We got totally fucked up on mushrooms then built this rabbit an outdoor sanctuary in my back yard. Like a week later I dug an artificial burrow for it to stay out of the heat and the area it had was big enough to for it to forage that it stopped eating the food I put out for it unless I gave it special treats. I just didn’t give it back when they returned and none of them gave a shit. 2 months later it had lost all this fat it had and actually looked like a healthy rabbit. It went from a mean pos that growled and scratched at ppl to running up when I went inside the cage and letting me pick her up and pet her. Then one day she escaped and I never saw her again. Poor Ms. Rabbit. I like to think she got knocked up by one of the wild rabbits in my yard but I know she got eaten by some fox or hawk. Idk where I was going with this but I’m kind of drunk AF and miss that little shit. Only thing that makes it ok is that poor Ms. Rabbit probably had a more fulfilling and happy life in those 2 months than the 2 years prior. At least she had some enjoyment out of her life. Fuck ppl that keep animals locked up in cages (that are far too small for them) all their life.

Yeah we got a couple of labradors when we moved to this lot years ago. But in 2016 they broke out onto the freeway and got ran over.

Then someone gave us a couple of their grandchildren… But we didn’t take quite as good care of them as before (as kids me and bro used to restle with them and stuff).

The brother got away and basically got adopted by some guy who owns the bike shop. Sister (Saidy) is a lot happier since cuz he was humping and messing with her I guess.

I think a bird or something might have actually got the first frog because I was able to set up this more proper habitat. They have more mobility now which means they have more places to hide but I still need to give em all some better places to hide in.

I might want to get a fish or two to eat off the mosquito wigglers. Maybe Delicate blue-eye since I think that’s the only thing that’ll leave the frogs at all their life stages alone if I’m lucky… Then some Utricularia gibba.

Maybe I’ll set up a better water cycling and oxygen system. I think my little hose drip thing will work maybe with a little modification like waterfall bubbler and lower siphon if that’s possible…

But we’ve got 5 acres so lots of room to do stuff.

When I picked up the frogs from the fountain apparently some snail eggs must have came a long and I decided to bring the baby snails along with the frogs to the pond.

A couple more frogs. They seem to like to hang by the little waterfall.
