I just know that this person has done awful things to people and has used “I can’t help it, I’m autistic” as an excuse. As a neurotypical with a lot of autistic friends, I know when autistic people “can’t help it” like when they need to stim. None of my autistic friends have a compulsion to say and do unpleasant things because they are autistic. This person is just an asshole.

      I agree with you.

Unexamined autism can look like this, but this something I’ve largely guided my children out of already. A well-adjusted autistic adult doesn’t do that shit. We know that neurodivergence can be an explanation for why some gross impulses can bubble up, but it’s not an excuse for going hog wild with them.

Saying and doing vile shit is saying and doing vile shit, regardless of the reason. I’ve done it, and I’m ashamed of it. So I work to do better. I don’t just shrug and go, “Well! That’s how my brain works! I guess genocide just rules now!”
