And Canada Marxists in general? Here is the website for those curious. I saw them on TikTok a little ways back and decided to follow them as I need more “local” comrades. No, I’ve never met them IRL but I have seen them at protests. They ended up DMing me and sending me to their website to join and get organized. I know getting organized is important so I’ve even keeping an eye on them but I have not gone further than that. They seem to be world wide and at first I was optimistic, until I saw a post made by them stating China (and Russia) was imperialist. At first I thought maybe I was reading their post wrong (I do that a lot) but in the comment section of other TikToks of theirs I see members stating the same thing. I then saw a TikTok (lots of TikTok, I know) about how people shouldn’t join them as they had a problem with transphobia and sexual assault. Mind you, this “exposé” was a year ago so maybe things have changed, but still this made me uneasy. All this together has made me skeptical. Am I being too harsh or is there some weird stuff going on here? I’ve seen other comments about how they set up tables at protests trying to share their paper (which is true, I’ve seen it firsthand) and how that is “hijacking” the protest (this was stated in reference to them doing this at an indigenous protest) which isn’t a great look. I’m not well versed in protest etiquette so I have no clue if what they’re doing is okay or not. I don’t know, this whole thing makes me a little suspicious…
hey, i’ve only read comments about them on here, and people having issues with them on lemmygrad, or was it hexbear could be both.
I recall my socialist club having a negative experience with the local chapter in my area from that ‘expose’ a year prior. fightback are Trotskyists.

you can use em for learning some skill, just beware brain worms they will infect you with, i guess. i heard they are “grooming young students that are looking for answers about why the world is so fucked up.” https://www.reddit.com/r/TrueAnon/comments/13dkdbi/i_went_to_my_uni_trot_meeting_again/
we do have to get organized to see proper change in the world as they say in the deprogram podcast episode 98 or revleft radio podcast “what is to be done, understanding communist strategy”.

hell i think elliot sang was just talking about this in a recent stream, calling us “western leftists”
The best criticism you can level at trots is that Tony Blair considered himself a trot.

So it seems my hesitation and suspicions were warranted. I did have a lingering thought that they might be some weird psyop but thats not totally confirmed and I wont say it definitively. What also put me off was how young the membership skewed, which is a weird criticism coming from me, a young person (20s), but I just find I odd how there are barely any older people. Nothing wrong with the youth getting organized but this is just strange. It kind of sucks that there doesn’t seem to be many options for leftist (at least) organizing in my area. Canadians are, unfortunately, notorious for being apathetic (as in, the “there’s nothing we can do” attitude). I wish I could talk about my location to find comrades but I know it’s dangerous, I’ve already pushed far enough by talking about my province. Oh well, at least I know I can unfollow these people on TikTok. Thank you for informing me of all this, I really appreciate it!
