Postmodernism is an amorphous philosophical school of thought that rose to prominence in the postwar period. Beginning as a fringe trend, it has since grown to become one of the dominant schools of bourgeois philosophy, permeating large parts, if not the majority, of academia today.
Edit: I think it is very important to debunk the narratives of the western, “new left”, equally with neoliberal and conservative bullshit beliefs. Works like this are very important. As @felipeforte@lemmygrad.ml pointed out “Lenin’s work of defeating subjective idealism […] is never done, and bourgeois philosophers will always try their best to disseminate ignorance”. Especially that such anti-scientific, irrational narratives (postmodernism, new left) are dominant even at universities.
Gabriel Rockhill has a lot of things to say about the New Left (or Compatible Left as he often calls it), as someone whose PhD work was done under its wing and then later rejected it.
Example: Capitalism’s Court Jester: Slavoj Žižek
Interesting, thank you.
