Being conditioned to say sorry when your boss asks to you cover on your off day, having to say thank you when you get your check, and being expected to give a 2 week notice is subtle class warfare imo.
I quit a job last month (was chronically underpaid and overworked there, worked there loosely for like 2 years). This one, I’ve worked for a few months, but I’m quitting cause they wanna be slick and try to delay our paychecks twice in a row. I did’t say thank you both times when I got my check and I could tell my manager was heated because of that.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hang on. You’re expected to apologize to your boss when they want you to work on an off day? That is fucked
One time, I explained to my manager that I didn’t want to come in because I was tired, and he tried to convince me that I had a day off to sleep already so I’d be fine
my keyboard is now covered in vomit
Thank you for a paycheck?!?!?!??!?!?!!
Yeah dude, like my coworker literally said thank you when they finally gave us our late check 😐.
At first, he didn’t even want to ask them about it because he felt bad doing it. Once my manager came in, I immediately asked him for it and he couldn’t even look at me.
