Best tldr I could make:
India is hosting the meeting as the chair of BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa).
The MEA said External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will chair the meeting and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, Chinese counterpart Wang Yi and the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor are expected to participate.
Brazilian Foreign Minister Carlos Alberto Franco is also likely to attend the virtual meeting.
The BRICS brings together five of the world’s largest developing countries, representing 41% of the global population, 24% of the global GDP and 16% of the global trade.
Honest question but why is South Africa in this alliance? Are they that big? Why not a country like Vietnam or Mexico?
They are the richest african country, its an aliance measured by economical and comercial power, but with developing countries classified as third world countries.
I hope my minister keeps his mouth shut and dont make our country ashamed of itself.
