I feel like this is the beginning of the end.
You alienate core users, you react to things in ways that violate your core principles to chase growth, you lose what made you valuable, and that’s where the disenchantment and downward spiraling comes into play.
Yes this indeed feels like a rerun.
This is why I have and continue to teach people how to torrent. It’s the digital equivalent of teaching a person how to fish.
Let’s all watch the downfall of Netflix!
Yo, ho, It’s a pirate’s life for me. (and Russian movie streaming sites)

they’re the market leaders because they were first, not because they’re the best.
The prevalent (wrong) idea that “it’s on Netflix, therefore is good” also misguided a lot of people into thinking Netflix was the only choice
These are bandaid fixes. Netflix really should focus more on not pissing off their customer base. There have been far too many shows that gain healthy followings and then just get canceled. They also need to do a better job in promoting their shows. Plenty of shows just never get a proper amount of hype and anticipation, so audiences may not even know that the show is in the works. The last is releasing more shows as weekly shows, especially when the seasons only have a few episodes. It keeps excitement going around the show because fans can be on social media, discussing the latest episode, and generally being engaged. It also benefits Netflix because fans stay on the platform for longer. Strong arming their customer base is just going to make customers resentful, but giving them a reason to stay will keep them.
when do you think they’ll cancel the Witcher?
I think they’re going to have a few more seasons, but I don’t think they have that much more material to go through. But that’s one where it has some staying power already. People are wanting to know when it comes up next immediately after it’s released.
