If only westerners did nothing, instead they stand on the side wringing their hands about “islamic terrorism” while Israel massacres Palestinians using weapons they only have because of the west.
I am so glad these temporarily embarrassed westerners are a tiny minority here in South Africa. They still hold way too much power though. They got a radio host on 94.7 to apologise for calling out the dead babies atrocitiy propaganda. Fucking satanically racist fools.
The Sufferer And The Witness is my favourite album ever. Even the album art is a metaphor of sorts. There’s the person on the cover getting screamed at, who is the sufferer, and then we, the listeners, are therefore the witness. Black Market is also pretty good though.
All their music hits really hard right now to be honest.
I’m an atheist. But all this, it makes me understand why many oppressed people turn to religion. There’s so much injustice in this world that we feel (and, to a certain extent, are, at least as individuals) powerless to stop. We want there to be some sort of final reckoning for the bad guys.
But no, we’re alone. If we want justice in this world, then humanity will have to collectively choose justice.
As the man himself said it: “religion is the sigh of an opressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, the soul of soulless conditions… It is the opium of the masses”.
I’m fortunate that my parents, who were raised going to church, turned away from religion specifically because of the incredible injustice they witnessed. They knew there was no magical spirit coming to save us, they raised their kids to fight for real change here on earth. I have felt such despair and seen the appeal of religion, I think it can be helpful for people so long as it doesn’t allow them to become complacent about what needs to be done here now.
This cannot be allowed to happen. If this happens and we stand by, we are all damned for eternity. Our children will hate us, and they’ll be right.

I love seeing Rise Against in the wild. But kind of hate when their lyrics are accurate.
Still have no idea how they managed to get this song through as an album opener almost 10 years ago
The Black Market is my favorite album of all time. People Live Here hits extra hard right now.

Everyone who allows this to happen deserves to burn.
