Why would you need usenet for that? We have NLUUG, that has them all (and BSD, and…) ready for download and use for net install. I guess there are more Unix User Groups that have sites like that.
I am still upset that this code exists. Talked with friends that I probably have one of the largest Linux Iso collections, because I never deleted them and had mirrors for a couple of distros. Almost a full terabyte!
However I phrased it, I could not convince them, that I was not talking about piracy.

I think once, in 2003 or so, I downloaded literally a Linux ISO via p2p, just to be true to the claim.
