You are 100% being reasonable and correct

thanks comrade, since people freaked out on me like a week ago im just super self conscious

Really what we need to control is knee-jerk tone policing by explicitly prohibiting it in the code of conduct

    agreed!

It’s more work for everyone but worth it if we get the benefit of more black voices.

    double agreed!!

It’s been 0 days since hexbear has made Othello uncomfortable about race-related issues yea

I really hate that this keeps happening and something needs to be done to address this. Sure, you’re still around, but I wonder how many black hexbears have left the site in the past because of similar issues. I hate how white hexbear is, not because of weird self-deprecating reasons but because imo it shows a clear failure of inclusivity.

This is just a thought, feel free to tell me it’s a dumbass idea, but what if we had an emoji specifically for POC hexbears to use in race-related discussions, kind of as a way to say “my voice matters more in this matter than that of white folks”? Maybe this could help avoid some conflict and remind white hexbears to shut up and let people of color speak.

a lot left before the move here sadly, i think we used to have more back on reddit ironically.

        no its a great idea.

i also wish hexbear would treat black people they way indigenous people or trans people are treated on here. theres a respect there that there isnt for black culture, theres also this understanding that you dont have to understand something to respect it. black culture isnt seen as something worthy of respect. people on here will argue that aspects of black culture specifically are wrong and anything they do deem acceptable or fashionable “doesnt belong to black people” and they are free to take. we are dissected cut up into bite sized pieces. not just here everywhere. im not even gonna bring up what that guy said before he deleted his comment im just gonna block him and move on.

also thanks umbravivi love seeing you around.
