September 12 is the anniversary of the day that The US Invokes Article 5 of NATO in 2001. This marked the beginning of the US’ infamous “War on Terror”. Over the next decades, the US would invade countries, violate sovereignty, and murder with impunity.

One such murder happened on today’s date. The US military murdered 8 Iraqi policemen without so much as an apology, let alone any convictions. The policemen were chasing a suspect with full lights and sirens, and passed by a military base. The US soldiers opened fire with a heavy machine gun.

This incident, as sickening as it was, was but a drop in the bucket for the murderous regime. Many of these killings were reported as military aged males, in order to imply that they weren’t gunning down random people in the street.

The US has killed millions, and displaced tens of millions more in this “War on Terror”, and continues to do so to this day. The authoritarian regime also uses it as justification for a greatly expanded secret police domestically.

This date marked the start of a dark time for the entire world. Millions are dead, civil rights have been eroded throughout the west, and global stability has eroded to cold war levels.
