    White people really do think that racism is just interpersonal dislike of other cultures and not some giant labyrinth of exploitation and colonialism. Every time it comes up shit just blows my mind.

      One problem is everyone still uses it that way, even people who have to constantly explain what systemic means will see some raging chud and say “that fucking racist guy”

      @DoiDoi It’s exactly how it was taught to them. “Thinking other races aren’t as good as yours,” legitimizing both race & false equivalency in a breath, was explicitly taught in every formal setting basically through college for me. Often no countermessaging until teens or later, though I hope (& think the right wing panic about perhaps credits) the internet offers some hope that they’ll get more stories than the “official” status-quo-serving properly-racist one at younger ages.
