i’d been ignorant, not heard of “right to leave” before, grateful to learn about it.
Are there pro-sex-worker (or I guess Esperanza would say “pro sex work”, maybe?) people fighting against right to leave?
I didn’t make it through the Red Canary Song / NYC DSA article yet … 6300+ words … but I couldn’t find anything about it in a couple of searches.
We don’t use the term sex work, we use the term sex trade, or people in the sex trade. Its not that ppl are “against” the right to leave, its just that sometimes its an impossibility. The independently wealthy ppl who take up prostitution as a hobby (and make up a miniscule amount of people… 99% of women trapped in the sex trade are poor), are the only ones who have the “freedom to exit”.
