    A significant chunk of the supposed emissions reductions are from switching from coal to natural gas. This is true in the US, Germany, and many other countries.

    However, that’s under the rather misguided premise that natural gas is actually a cleaner fossil fuel than coal. Methane is a much more powerful GHG than CO2 and methane leakage in the natural gas supply chain has recently been estimated to be around 2.5%…

    In essence, we’re hiding behind a veil of lies.
