        I run the newest version of ubuntu server and it’s pretty much adds for ubuntu pro. But to be honest I don’t really mind it. They offer the extended updates for free for a handful of computers if you sign up for it. If the tradeoff for 10 years of support is some adds I am okay with it

          Shouldn’t we have the control over our machines to… you know… turn advertising off?

          You think giving up that control is worth 10 years of support that you would be getting anyways because it’s free software?

            I’m pretty sure you can turn them off. I just never bother. And I am not giving up any sort of control. I am not limited in anyway by the ubuntu pro adds. They are annoying but eh. And I would not be getting it anyways. I get extended updates because of ubuntu pro
