The thing is, when someone says “those old fucks don’t care about the future” it misses the point. We shouldn’t elect people who don’t care about the future of everyone. In a bourgeois democracy, politics is a career, so politicians don’t care about anyone but themselves. In a real democracy, electing older people should be valued for their experience because they should be required to focus their efforts on a future they won’t see
