    Honestly I think we should blame English people for making sheet/shit and beach/removed pronunciation so close while their meanings are so far appart.

      French can pronounce it correctly. They don’t care. It’s not like it’s hard to elongate the e “sound” they’re not coming from a non Latin language.

      Edit : I mean bilingual persons not monolingual.
