    This has been said a million times in Marxist spaces, but we have more prisoners than the Soviet Union ever had with the so-called gulag system at its height.

      Important distinction: The US have more prisoners PER CAPITA than the USSR ever had, or any other current or past country, in fact.

      Liberals love saying BUT CHINA HAS THE LARGEST PRISON POPULATION! While ignoring that China also has the largest population population, and that the percentage of prisoners to total citizens is actually fairly low.
