Hay muchos videojuegos divertidos. Muchos menos con audio o subtítulos españoles. Pero hay algunos.
Skyrim y Fallout 4 continenen muchísimos textos y audios. También Batman: Arkham Knight, Dying Light, Civilisation VI y Dragon Age: Inquisition. Quizás Spiderman. Last of Us, Unchartered, tienen audios y textos pero no tanto cómo estos otros. Pienso FIFA también. (Ten cuidado con Batman y Spiderman porque es fácil que utilizo dinero real en los menus cuando el idioma está menos familiares. No caes en esa trampa.)
Divinity: Original Sin y Red Dead Redemption (y otros juegos rockstargames) tienen textos españoles al menos. Pensé que Divinity tiene audios pero parece que no.

I’m unsure if all these have audio but they should have the text language in Spanish. Sometimes, on a console, you’ll have to download a language pack. With some games the language can be changed at any time: it’s either set by your console language or in the game settings. With e.g. [Assassin’s Creed], I believe you get one chance to set the language at the start of the save file.
@rjs001@lemmygrad.ml I found four text based games:
- Ord – this is very fun, very straightforward. Play it with a DeepL or Google translate window/app open on another device to look up words quickly.
- Darkside Detective (there’s a sequel, too)
- A Place for the Unwilling (this is English-only audio but it looks mainly text-based so it might be possible to just mute the audio and play it as if it’s solely text-based)
- Grim Fandango

Blasphemous is a game made in Spain, I’ve heard good things about it although I haven’t played it.
It’s a 2D souls like metroidvania.
That looks great. It’s in the PlayStation sale atm, too. Till 17 Aug in the US.
Adding to that list, if I recall correctly the vast majority of international first party Nintendo Games from the Iwata era came with Spanish localisation (usually they don’t have much voice acting anyways). So if you’re still starting on Spanish you can emulate some classics like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon/Minish Cap/Metroid Fusion which have a lot of story, but also have very accessible language due to their younger demographic.
The ones that don’t come with any usually also have pretty good fan translation patches. There’s also this website with lists of Spanish-language ROMs. I don’t speak much Spanish myself but it was more understandable to me as a kid than English, and Nintendo really hates Portuguese for some reason.
Most AAA nowadays have Spanish localisation, though. They’d be missing on a gigantic market otherwise. Just remember to pirate.

How safe is it to download ROMs like this? Is there anything that I should do to avoid malware, etc?
I’ve never seen a ROM being capable of harm by itself. What is more likely is for there to be an specific exploit in the implementation of an emulator abused by a hacked ROM. But since ROMs have constant hash, you can just verify the integrity in a hash database. It’s more of a danger if you’re specifically going for patched ROMs such as translations or mods, though the patches for those are usually open source and you can patch them yourself.
What is more common is for the download website such as Mediafire to have a fake “download button” ad that downloads some compromised executable with the same name as your download. That’s why it’s important to always have an adblocker like uBlock Origin. You’ll notice it’ll be called something like “Pokemon.nds.exe”.
It also gets a bit more dangerous in theory with newer consoles like the Switch since the games and emulators are still being developed. The older the emulator the least likely there will be unknown exploits and if the file is too large that it needs to be zipped, then you also have to consider a (extremely advanced and unlikely) archive extraction exploit.
And though it’s rare, Nintendo did allegedly go after some rando for torrenting the newest Zelda before the release, so using a VPN when pirating through torrent is always a cool precaution. If the file is small you’ll likely find direct download better.
EmuParadise is a very old and trusted ROM repository, and I recommend VBA-M for Game Boy games and Dolphin for GameCube/Wii. Cemu for the Wii U has also recently gone FOSS, so you can also use that one without much worry to play BotW (it is identical to the Switch version). For the older ones you can even run it in a virtualbox for extra safety if you don’t trust it since they’re so lightweight.
