i did this not too long ago. I requested 4 days off before my “weekend” but they only approved the first 3 days off and I went anyway. called out the day I was supposed to work then when pay day rolled around I got all the holiday pay I originally asked for because my job is union and not extremely stupid (just regular stupid)

Hey bud, you should take some time off so you don’t get burnt out :) Also remember to get it approved months in advance and not at the same time other people will be out :-]

Where I’m at they’re constantly pulling the “denied” request stuff. I just straight up ignore it now. If I don’t want to be there I’m not going to be there. If they don’t pay me the PTO that’s legally mine, we can discuss that with a lawyer.

I’ve had two jobs try to call me in when I was over a thousand miles away. Like, make that make sense. You want me to get on a plane and rent a car when I get there and, what, then work the last couple hours left in the shift, and then what? Fly back? At some point did this phone call ever make sense to them? Both times they got laughed at over the phone, and in both cases they got thoroughly shamed when I got back.
