Because there’s a ton of libs that actually tend to lean more to the left in latin america that opposes and condems the USian invade while also saying shit like agreeing Maduro is a dictator.
As much as I also don’t see them as leftists, there is a clear difference between these libs and the ones that full on agree with the invasion.
A lib is a lib. A defender of the capitalist status quo. A leftist who claims to be ‘anti-capitalist’ but regurgitate the same imperialist propaganda from the largest capitalist government is a problem on the left.
That’s an oversimplification. Here in Brazil for example there are strands of workerism that have a lot of the same criticsms we have, fight in a lot of the same fights, but don’t take into account class and don’t want to overcome capitalism. They are still libs and as wrong as they are, they are considered left here and are much more left than the current government.
I don’t like it either but we can’t simply ignore it all and antagonize those that are willing to be by our side in one way or another, it just isn’t that simple
I get your frustration but this is one interaction with one shitlib who thinks they are the bearer of truth. I’m talking in much broader terms here in regards to how this stuff is here in Brasil at the very least. Which is not to say there aren’t a bunch of people just like this, but there’s also a bunch of people that are still libs that are willing to work with us somewhat.

The ones who consider social democrats and liberals ‘center left’ need to redo their political education.

I tried and this is what I received.
