    Yeah, no. If the day ever comes I chose between myself and one of my children, that choice is already made. So, twosentancesadness? Maybe, with a decent rewrite. Not horror. I wouldn’t hesitate one moment to save my kids instead of myself. Your entire premise is a complete and utter failure.

      Maybe we are supposed to be horrified at the mother’s choice. Yours seems to be a reasomable reading of it too.
