The President of Faso, Head of State, His Excellency Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, inaugurated the Pala University Hospital Center (CHU) and its Radiotherapy Center on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
The construction of these healthcare facilities reflects the Burkinabe authorities’ commitment to improving the availability and quality of healthcare for the population. The Pala University Hospital Center, costing over 70 billion CFA francs and with a capacity of 500 beds, is a testament to a fruitful partnership between Burkina Faso and the People’s Republic of China.
“The inauguration of this high-standard hospital demonstrates the ability of certain nations to rise above all considerations and forge a strong friendship with Burkina Faso. This university hospital is the result of the partnership between Burkina Faso and the People’s Republic of China. It is a concrete manifestation of the strategic relationship between the two nations. It is a source of pride,” stated Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
“One of the distinctive features of this university hospital is undoubtedly its interventional brain and cardiovascular imaging room. The Pheno Artis Siemens room installed at the Pala University Hospital is a state-of-the-art room and would be the first to be installed in the sub-region,” maintains the Minister of Health, Dr. Robert Lucien Jean-Claude KARGOUGOU.
Nine other university hospitals of the same standard have been announced in other locations, starting with Fada.
In his desire to provide state-of-the-art technical facilities to healthcare structures, the Head of State announces the construction of university hospitals of the same standard as the one in Pala.
“We have decided to build nine of these, starting with Fada N’Gourma. The objective is to increase the technical capacity to allow our doctors and nurses to express themselves because they have talent,” emphasizes the President of Faso.
As for the Radiotherapy Center, it will, among other things, improve the availability of and access to quality healthcare services and treatments for people affected by cancer. It was built thanks to support from Austrian cooperation.
Finally good news! Thank you, comrade!
