In fact most “Israelis” originated from the territory that was apart of the Russian Empire (Pale of Settlement) who fled because as you said earlier the Tsar and his supporters (Black Hundreds) were antisemitic. On a side note the Soviets did create a Jewish autonomous territory called the Jewish Autonomous Oblast (It still exists today).
