Yeah, I’m general this feels like a pretty bad faith post. A bad take on Zionism by someone close to a century ago? And I’m supposed to what, demonize this man that fought for equal rights, not just racially but for the working class, to the point he got assassinated for it?
A good person can have a bad take. It doesn’t make them not a good person. It makes them human.
It’s also just not really true. If you look inot what he actually says it more paints a picture of someone who isn’t very educated on zionism wanting peace in the middle east and equality for all. which isnt’ what zionism is. There seems to be a dedicated effort to try to twist the truth and even outright lie about what martin luther king believed about zionism.
But no it was pretty milquetoast centrist take on israel/palestine. Which is definitely still a bad take, especially considering some of his peers like malcom x were very vocally opposed to israel. But it’s not zionism.
