Pro-Palestine activists in South Korea together with Palestinians in Seoul protested and marched through the capital and past the US and Israeli embassies, to demand the immediate provision of humanitarian aid, and ultimately, the liberation of Palestine.

They chanted, “We are all Palestinians” and “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” to bring attention to the plight of Palestinians, as concern mounts over the fragile ceasefire and dire conditions in Gaza.

I’m actually very hopeful for the working class in the ROK. There’s a dialectical relationship between the fierce history of resistance across all of Korea and the current comprador government and US Empire’s occupation. It’s such a stratified and violent reaction to the bright history of resistance to such tyranny.

i also share your hope. i think the contradictions are sharpening and koreans are beginning to realize that there is still a national liberation struggle at play. anti-americanism is coming back in style and it seems the two things holding koreans back from more social progression is 1) their antagonisms against north korea and 2) the backwards propagandization that men receive in conscripted service. i think as north korea improves economically and the political gender division resolves, we will see a korea closer to liberation
