Yesterday I made a post about a strange flag I saw at a vexillology themed art exhibit in my town, a lot of people were curious about it and I stated I would make an update so here it is.

Today I attended a talk by the curator of the exhibit which I failed to mention in the previous post is focused around diversity and anti-racism. Many of the artists that created the pieces in the exhibit also gave talks but the artist responsible for the Mao Zedong rising sun flag featured in my last post was not one of them. I did however return with a photograph of the sheet of paper I mentioned in the comments of the previous post that gives details on each of the pieces although frankly it has left me with more questions than answers. I cant tell if I’m missing something or if this artist just has some severe misconceptions about Chinese history.

I have emailed the creator of the piece asking for more details about the flag and I will make another update if I find any new information of interest. Apparently most of the flags in the exhibit are for sale so maybe I’ll be able to purchase this anomaly.
