    What these Herzlians are basically doing is playing the ‘starving children in Africa’ card. No, in terms of scale, the Nakba is not worse than the Shoah, but that isn’t the point. Ordinary Westerners think of the Shoah when they think ‘genocide’ because their education rarely covers other annihilation campaigns, and because referencing it is an easy way to quickly draw attention to the present crisis. The point is not to trivialise the Shoah, but to draw attention to an ongoing war of extermination.

    I can see how the Shoah analogies are somewhat misguided, but acting this agitated over them doesn’t make Herzlians look any better. Nobody is likening their paper cuts or stubbed toes to the Shoah. They’re likening one extremely fucking serious situation to another and Herzlians are distracting people from it by telling us to shut up, sit down and consider all of the technicalities.
