I would personally be embarrassed to admit that my idea of a perfect society has only ever appeared in children’s fiction, doubly so if I clearly wasn’t paying attention to the actual story and just bizarrely projected my Nazi hog-cranking fantasy onto it.

It does confound me slightly that this stupid idea of reality is completely removed from the world as it is while simultaneously having more political momentum behind realizing it than even social democracy does, much less socialism proper… can’t have shit in the anglosphere.
