I just noticed I haven’t visited Lemmygrad in a month, cause I was afraid of opening the site. Same reason I ignore important emails, don’t respond to friends and sometimes “ghost” people. If someone calls me on the phone, I answer, if someone wants to hang out I go and hang out, but it is so easy to shut out the digital world. Kind of unfortunate everything is moving to the digital realm… or is it by design? Is it a feature of the digital system that those of us with anxiety won’t be able to participate fully? People ask me if I have instagram, nope. I don’t post about my life on social media, yet that is what is expected to be a participating member of today’s society.
Tbh It is more an issue for me to participate analog than digital. Social interaction through audio and video is a burden for me and it of course applies for RL interactions.
If the communication totally switches to the internet, even if peers are available locally, than it is indeed nothing good. Keeping digital footprint is important. But it is not expected to be a participating member of today’s society everywhere. It depends on age, country and so on. Peers in my age may have Instagram or whatever but it is not that common. I don’t have Instagram and tbh I still don’t get why I should use it.
This is of course not good. To answer them is often needed for work or for official government stuff. Since AI exists, I am creating my responds with the help of it and then correct few things. It takes to much energy otherwise.
I never considered that as an option… That’s a great idea actually.
I made great experience with DeepL. They offer not only translation but also the option to rewrite your text. Here is example:
This has been transformed to:
Sometimes also ChatGPT may be a help to. I once forgot to greet my father when he had birthday. I told GPT what I want and how the stile should be. I had a positive respond from him. Try it out, it might help you!
I was thinking of paying for Claude. It’s $20/mo. but I see it as having a personal assistant/teacher that knows everything and is available 24/7. Maybe I could even run a local LLM and feed it my emails and written documents so it can sound like me too.
