It’s not a word that can, or should be, “reclaimed”.

Dunking on chuds/libs/etc. is awesome, but it doesn’t need that specific framing.

People here bully for the same reason anyone else bullies: cruelty without consequence makes the bully feel powerful. The idea that bullying is “praxis” or whatever is self-justifying delusion. Nobody who can explain at length why individual voting in bourgeois elections is a waste of time genuinely believes that they’re doing more to improve material conditions by seeking out the safest possible environment to perform focused personal cruelty without negative social feedback. People do it because it’s fun for them. It’s a hobby. People don’t want to be told not to enjoy their shameful treat, so they come up with tortured excuses about why their indulgence is actually a selfless public service.

No it’s because it’s easier to say “stfu nerd” then to engage with the idea the reason were mean to fascists and bigots is because we’re desperate for “a need to feel powerful”

No it’s because those people suck and they should be shamed for their shitty bigoted opinions.

Also, this is the ONLY place on the whole internet where we as leftists can get ours. How many platforms have you been banned from while the libs/chuds can say whatever they want?

I’ve been saying for years civility fetishists are going to get us all killed. I was talking about liberals getting offended if we said that you should punch nazis. Real bummer to see the same argument being made about calling them dumbasses by the people supposedly most politically inclined to actually oppose them.

Liberals were saying we should punch Nazis during trump, but now it’s bad…

What changed? The brunch menu they were handed in January 2021?

Do you credit being being bullied with improving your life and making you a better person? Did you thank your bully? Has it been your experience that others thank you for improving their lives by bullying them? If you believe that bullying is effective at correcting antisocial behavior, then why wouldn’t parents, teachers, and peers have a duty to bully children? If you just believe in an abstract sense that it’s good to do bad things to bad people, then why would it be wrong to sexually assault people who have sexually assaulted others?

Political education is a tool to correct harmful reactionary behavior. Revolutionary violence is a tool to remove reactionaries’ ability to cause harm. If what you’re doing isn’t changing harmful behavior, and it’s not reducing their ability to cause harm, then it’s worth considering what you actually are accomplishing with how you choose to spend your time. Reinforcing an association of cruelty with pleasure in your own mind harms you more than it helps anyone else.

Good luck to you as you do the real work to fight fascism in the only way that matters: by immediately wishing death and prison at communists on the internet who encourage you to do the most basic self crit. I plainly didn’t suggest anyone advocated sexual assault. I plainly didn’t enter this thread espousing sympathy for whatever Nazis you think are being discussed in this thread about a child who was bullied to death.

I’m genuinely sorry that you can’t see how quick you are to repeat abusive behavior that you were subjected to. If you looked past whatever liberal caricature who’s positions you’re defensively attributing to me, you’d see that I’m not saying any of this out of concern for whatever laundry list of hypothetical bad guys you’ve conjured up to justify your behavior: I’m saying it out of concern for you. It’s not news to anyone that we live in a rotten country. Fixing actual problems that affect real people’s lives requires taking organized collective action in real life, and that’s not easy to do. It’s much harder to do when internet-poisoned people show up to real life organizing spaces and immediately make marginalized and vulnerable people unsafe with threats and bad faith accusations of Nazi sympathy at the first difficult conversation. I’m not trying to “own” you. I’m not trying to win an internet fight. I’m trying to to help you avoid alienating everyone you need to work with in real life. Being toxic online is extremely easy, and it also doesn’t make anyone’s material conditions or mental health better, including yours.
