I agree with the death penalty in principle. In practice, I would only agree with it under the dictatorship of the proletariat because a bourgeois state should not have that amount of power.

I’m all for rehabilitative justice, but if it can be proven beyond any reasonable doubt that you:

  1. intentionally murdered an innocent person
  2. raped someone
  3. molested a child
  4. are a nazi
  5. committed war crimes

then you have forfeited your right to be a part of society and should be removed from it. Imo there is no amount of re-education or rehabilitation that can fix a person who has done any of the aforementioned things.

Thoughts?

on the west it has been historically and currently used as a way to terrorize poor people and minorities, so i think it needs to go in the west just from a realist or practical perspective, and when its gone do u really wanna bring it back and have the risk of killing innocent people to fulfill some kind justice or revenge. but i do very much agree with china’s use of it on extremely rich people since there is no other way to punish them.

also u say there is no coming back from any of those things but do u have proof has research proven this sounds like u made a statement without even considering if it was true.
