minus-square@StugStiglink2•1 year agoThe SODIMMs that laptop use are the ones where an 8GB stick can come in 4 chip configurations. Regular full size DIMMs have 8 chips minimum so 8GB sticks for PCs shouldn’t have that issue.

Fewer chips is worse in general since you want the memory to not only be x8 but also dual rank (two chips per controller).
