There is a very simple explanation for “the black people do more crime” bs.
These statistics used ARRESTS not convicted crimes. Since black neighbourhoods are a lot more policed more people get arrested
POC being systematically impoverished plays a part as well
Also black people tend to get sentenced more harshly than white people for the same crimes and similar criminal backgrounds, resulting in prison populations being even more disproportionately black.
