I mean this just gets back into the “as far as practicable” rule. I wouldn’t be able to survive in the current world in which we live if I excluded all plants fertilized with manure from my diet. I only use non-animal-product fertilizers in my own garden though.

They did come from animals but they were already dead and at least part of it was made from plants.
