    Anyone who uses “you need to touch grass” not as a form of sympathy, but as a means of just trying to win an internet argument is so absurdly terminally online that the expression loses all meaning. Someone smugly saying “touch grass” like this is so out of touch with reality that they don’t need to touch grass themselves so much as they need to smash their computer with a brick, rip off all their clothes and wander off into the woods to live amongst the wildlife for the rest of their days.

      It’s mostly used to try to shut down and dismiss people. It’s used as the latest version of old thought-terminating cliches such as “get a life” “get a job” “u need 2 get laid” “get help” and “who hurt you?” smuglord
