Correct me if I’m wrong but Electronic Engineering is part of STEM. I keep hearing that STEM is one of the best fields to be in if you’re looking for a comfortable life. I’m gonna be forced into college soon, and I’m wondering of a good degree to get while I’m there, and what scholarships to be searching for.

Originally I want to do audio engineering, but I heard that electronic engineering would be suitable since it’s in demand. What are your thoughts on this? What things to look out on for STEM and what truths do you have about STEM? Is all of this even worth it?

Also a lot of those jobs are in defense. While I’d be designed to make the weapons that put those imperialist pigs out of their misery and onto judgement… I’m not sure that’s the job you want lol.

I’m interested… Tell me more wink

“I’m gonna be forced into college soon” really? Are your parents paying?

True, I might try to find a way around it. I just don’t know yet at the moment…

I think if I go to college it will be in a few years and I would like to study chemistry in China.

I heard that studying in China is a really good option, I always wanted to visit that country.

I don’t think we have an EE channel on here but I’ve thought about making it aside from my STEAM one. If you want to learn even more about it and there are also resources like EEVblog. Really all you need to do to start hunting is some breadboard/perfboard action with an arduino and then you can graduate to designing your own PCB with Kicad, have it printed by JLCPCB or PCBWay, and soldering the parts on there with an Atmega or Attiny instead of the arduino. That’s what I did. You can get LEDs, mosfets, passives, logic ICs (shift registers, microcontrollers, etc) very cheap from sites such as aliexpress, LCSC, Digikey. Go ahead and order some parts in DIP or maybe SMD 0603 or bigger.

What interests you in EE? It may not be a bad choice if you go to college depending on factors as I mentioned like your exact career plans. Keep your options open.
