    I think they desperatly yearn for some really bloody loss to fuel their messianism, but alas they’ve been mostly winning all the time and even when they loss it’s not really huge manpower losses.

      No, it’s just futile last stands against a superior force are something that’s romanticized. And The Alamo is a prime example of one.
