As 'Action Fans' attack #PreyMovie as unrealistic for having women warriors, consider that women fought on the front lines in #indigenous non-patriarchal cultures, like Hawaii, but the White Man's World has fought to erase this from history, like our languages.
Even pre-Roman, pre-Christian Europe had warrior women, e.g. Boudicca. Viking shield-maidens have been dismissed as folklore, except now quite a few bodies buried with weapons and armor are being identified as anatomically and/or genetically female (though of course, that data doesn’t bear on their social gender).
