Ballpark estimate.
I want to be able to use my normie apps like a random calculator that requires 100% ram usage while it definitely doesn’t mine Bitcoin, wifi to display annoying ads and other obnoxious permissions.
I’m being more srs than I’d like.
Think I would still be able to use like 99% of my google play apps?
Depends if you install with microG or not?
I’m using MicroG/LineageOS and so far almost everything works fine. I found one specific app that’s buggy but usable (CityMapper) and two that just won’t work (Zoom, and a local app) - but all of these could be problems with my very sketchy LineageOS version.
Which “sketchy” LineageOS version do you use? And for why?
it’s one of the “phhusion” “global system images” https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/Generic-System-Image-(GSI)-list
I say “sketchy” because every page in the setup instructions was plastered with giant disclaimers 🙃
It is not as easy as to just install microG.
You must use a LineageOS fork that enables signature spoofing to be able to connect to Goolag servers and SafetyNet gives you a green flag.
For that, if you really need Goolag or Goolag dependent apps, I recommend LineageOS4microG which is a light fork of LineageOS made by microG project which enables signature spoofing and includes microG by default.
Oops! I totally forgot LineageOS doesn’t come with signature spoofing option by default. Yep in that case You’d have to use the LineageOS for microG project
thanks!
