Our understanding is we can’t use it at work, and I do have a personal project going at the moment, but maybe I’ll give it a shot for the next one.
If a lot of bad actors seem to originate from a single instance that instance will end up de-federated (unlinked) from the rest of the community, isolating them.
I haven’t found a good use case for it yet personally, but I am excited to hopefully get it to start helping with the boring boilerplate and similar things.
I am a little afraid that it’ll be the first bit of common tech I am too old to really grok and I’ll just be that old dude in the corner that insists on doing it how everyone did “back in my day.”
He looks so dapper in it, even if he hated it.
Hamburger menu in the top left, then hit the down arrow to see “+ Add Account”, hit that and then put in your info and it should log you in.
I think imgur and giphy are the way to go for now. I think I read that Lemmy is meant to be able to host them, but there’s a bug that is preventing it from working.
I’m not sure how easy it is to do with GNOME now, but you can often have a WM just replace part of your DE. For a long time I ran i3 as part of an Xfce setup when I had to connect to school wifi.
If Lemmy truly catches on we probably can’t totally prevent an Eternal September, but I do hope we go a long way to staving it off.
Yeah, I am enjoying Lemmy and Jerboa, but they are definitely not the most user intuitive.
It’s not super obvious, but if you set the communities to All in the search function it should search everything your instance is federated with
I really loved the first season, but never got around to watching the second season. I feel like the manga was loosing steam too, but maybe that was just me losing interest. I hope you get it, though.
I’ll have to check it out. I’ve only ever heard positive things about the game and related media.
I find trailers often help feed my hype for seeing something or help tip me for/against seeing something. The second part definitely isn’t going to be in play here, but the first part still can.

There is a search functionality, it just depends on what your instance has cached and definitely isn’t perfect. I’m on beehaw, but here you can see some lemmy.ml communities that I’m not subbed to showing up in my search:
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Delicious in Dungeon for me. Both manga are outstanding fantasy that aren’t isekai and I think will translate really well to being animated.
If you go to the home screen and pick the community button (it’s the second item from the left on the bottom and looks like a list) you should be able to search for any community that is indexed by your host instance.
This is a really solid list! The One Within the Villainess is the one I came here to recommend. I love villainess stories and this one really feels the most unique to me, though I’d say at least half of your recommendations are some of my favorites and the rest are ones I’ve been thinking of picking up, and now probably will.
