English speaking it’s a solid 5% now, so I’d say it’s one in twenty.

Toll roads aren’t bad, it’s all in the details. The problem is that the government is often “captured” and therefore has no incentive to have a fair contract, so they’ll add clauses like
Ideally, toll roads encourage people to take the train.
TIL on this one. Thanks dude.
If you live in the areas it’s extremely clear this is satire.
Happy Apr 1.
Just legislate max car noise.
A key issue with many PHEVs is that the “P” is in name only. Their batteries are generally too weak to work without the ICE engine at least some of the time (eg high speed up a hill or when partially discharged). In my view this is quite deceptive, as many people would think (and many PHEVs allow) that you could effectively use the PHEV as a “pure” EV for the majority use case.
OK a bit of a rant from me but here I go:
Tim could easily see a smaller cut from Valve for a big game and say “yeah that’s great sign me up” but he doesn’t. He literally says “You should support the smaller players rather than the large ones”. He’s arguing to give a better rate to struggling developers rather than the successful ones. That’s what the COO says “umadbro” to. Honestly, that’s enough for me to really reconsider buying new games from Steam.
The issue is: This is exactly how Sweeney talks to people on Twitter. There was a particularly good reply to him once, which basically went: I agree with you and support your principled stance, but I can’t trust you because you are such a troll.
This is the problem. I truly believe Sweeney is a good person, and he actually wants more open markets not just for Epic but for everyone. Yes, he ships Unreal which smaller devs use and a sale for them means a sale for him, but really you don’t lean into things like this unless you actually want to democratise making games as a principled stance.
But he can just be such a jerk that people just don’t like talking to him or dealing with him or his companies. It’s frustrating to be honest, because he can be such a voice for good.
Holy shit is that serious or a meme?
Upvoting. Thanks for understanding my premise. Firstly, there are a lot of cars in the game, and you can still carjack, and the requisite physics must exist. You are a cop, so obviously cop chases don’t make sense, but an enormous amount of time and effort was put into driving given it’s got nothing to do with the game.
I’m sorry but this is rubbish. It’s a hellscape but also very fun and easy. The government or similar entity still pays for road infrastructure. Biofuel is cheap or free (do you ever fill up in game?). Hellscape but your character isn’t effectively a chattel slave and you don’t have any debt. At least have the design explore the problem. Make it so if you use a car in your heist you will end up losing money. Do something with the premise. Anything. Don’t be like “whee this is fun and consequence free wow this is a corporate hellscape”
My issue is who is driving and what the roads look like. Somehow the government still pays for roads? No road rolls? Petrol / biofuel at reasonable prices? All cars aren’t for the ultra rich?
There was a time when I spent more on Petrol than I did on food for myself. Yes, rent was more expensive, but putting that aside, adding up the on-road costs like insurance and registration, and I was well and truly spending more on my car than I was on myself. That’s without taking my taxes going to roads or my rent being higher because cars are monopolising more space. Society relies on cars today to the extent that we are faced with cars having life destroying potential in this planet and most of us look the other way most of the time. We need cars and we let them walk all over us.
Wait is there a difference between coroutines and async/await? I thought they were practically the same model.
Out of interest, what do you mean by “your users”? Is it like your family? Or some extended vpn thing? I sort of just use the *arrs directly whenever someone says they want to watch a movie.
You’ll notice that new is not a keyword or any special rust thing. It’s actually a software design pattern called a smart constructor, and validation is part of the intent. Pattern wise putting this into a smart constructor and encapsulating changes to this value is, I believe, idiomatic.
IIUC rust does not have a type system where you can give numeric bounds. Creating one would likely mean you’d need to define all the maths, which is likely not worth it.
